Ocular drug delivery - A review of new and emerging material, formulation and process development opportunities

Back to overview

Overview

The development of polymeric formulations designed for the precise intravitreal delivery of drug products represents one of the most exciting, yet challenging, areas of pharmaceutical focus today. After a short review of existing products and applications for ocular drug delivery, the webinar will review new polymeric biomaterials such as specialized excipients for low immunogenicity and to reduce inflammation. Best-practices for extrusion-based process technologies and equipment, analytical method development and process controls that can support scale-up to clinical and commercial manufacturing will also be discussed.
