Overview

Functional polymers are increasingly being used to enhance the swallowability, taste and feel of oral drug products with an immediate release profile. Areas of particular application focus include children and those with the swallowing disorder Dysphagia.

In this webinar, Evonik will review options to develop immediate release formulations including coated mini-tablets and taste-masked dry syrup. The webinar will also review the use of ready-to-use immediate release powder blends to not only generate application outcomes including swallowability enhancement, taste masking and improved glossiness, but also substantially reduce processing time and cost.

Ashish Guha is the Associate Director of Formulations for Evonik in India, where he specializes in the development of formulation technologies for the oral delivery of pharmaceutical and nutraceutical products.

He has more than 15 years of experience in pharmaceutical formulation development, technology transfer, manufacturing and drug delivery. Prior to joining Evonik, he was a research scientist at Lupin. He also has a master’s in pharmacy from IPER at the University of Nagpur, India.

Dr. Matthias Wiehn is the global product manager for oral drug delivery solutions at Evonik. He holds a doctorate in chemistry from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany.
