Dr. Kessler is a key opinion leader for high purity ingredients used in cell culture and pharmaceutical applications. Since joining Evonik in 2008, he has helped to lead Evonik in the development of its cQrex® portfolio for cell culture customers.

Today, as Director of Amino Acids and Peptides, Christian manages the global commercial activities in the fields of highly purified amino acids and peptides for cell culture and pharmaceutical use. He earned his PhD in Chemical Process Engineering from the Max Planck Institute in Germany in 2008.
Dr. Melanie Schölzel
Senior Project Manager R&D

Dr. Schölzel is a senior project manager in the R&D division of Evonik Health Care. She is responsible for various projects relating to the development of innovative new products and processes for the cell culture and advanced food industries.

She joined Evonik in 2012 after obtaining her PhD in bioorganic chemistry from Heinrich-Heine-University in Düsseldorf, Germany. Since then, she has gained a strong technical understanding of the cell culture market, and the project requirements of customers.
