Overview

This one-day workshop will be an excellent opportunity for lab managers and senior scientists from formulation development, scale-up, production or process development who want to learn about design, handling, processing and preparation of pharmaceutical and nutraceutical formulations.

Participants will get a very focused training on Evonik's products and solutions for targeted delivery in pharmaceutical and nutraceutical applications but also have the chance to think outside the box and learn about new drug delivery options and applications. Also for participants from academia this event may be of high relevance.

International experts will present relevant topics. Furthermore, the agenda will provide room for expert discussions and know-how exchange. Attendees will be able to directly apply their learnings from this workshop to their daily work.

Rapeeporn Sathitthammaporn
Business Manager

Ms. Rapeeporn Sathitthammaporn is currently serving as Senior Business Manager for SouthEast Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Pakistan at Evonik Health Care.

She joined Evonik (Thailand) in April 2015. She is responsible for global and local project formulation developments per customer requirements, involving assistance related to technical problems. She has extensive international experience in meeting, advising and solving customers’ formulations and production problems in SEA, Australia & New Zealand and Pakistan.

Ms. Rapeeporn has a unique combination of technical and business skills. Previously, she started her career in the pharmaceuticals business with Siam Bheasach Co.ltd, Thailand for 9 years as the Production Manager, with extensive knowledge in solid dosage form technology and processes, then Boots Retail (Thailand) as the Product Development and Quality Assurance Manager, managing products ranging from personal care, cosmetics to health care. Subsequently, She held the Industry Sales Manager (Pharma) position of Brenntag Ingredients (Thailand) PLC. and had earlier worked with Jebsen & Jessen NutriLife (T) Ltd.

Ms. Rapeeporn received her B.Sc. - Pharmaceutical Sciences (Second class Honor) and Masters of Business Administration from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand.
Dr. Nitesh Shah

Dr. Nitesh Shah joined Evonik in 2012 as Manager-Technical Services for North India & Gujarat. In subsequent years he handled position of increasing responsibilities in Technical Services. He was later entrusted with responsibility of Business Development & Key Account Sales.

Currently he serves as Business Director of Asia South, where he is responsible for overall business of Asia South for all functions of Sales, Technical, Marketing, Business Development, Customer Service & Logistics.

Nitesh started his career as a Lecturer in Pharmacy college in Ahmedabad in 2007 and later worked in Formulation development of generics and NDA’s with companies like Zydus Cadila; and Johnson & Johnson.

Nitesh received his Masters and Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Nirma University, Ahmedabad, India. He has 13 publications in international peer reviewed journals.
Hisao Matsuka
Vice President – Asia Pacific, Sales & Services

Hisao Matsuka joined Evonik Health Care as Vice President Asia North & Oceania in April 2021. He is presently responsible for sales & services activities in the region Asia Pacific for the business line Health Care at Evonik's Nutrition & Care Division.

He started his career in 1997 as an R&D Engineer, Electronics Lab/Software Development at Toyota Motor Corporation. Later he took up the responsibility as Program Manager, Global CT Business / Integration Manager, Asia Pacific at GE Healthcare (formerly GE Medical Systems).

Matsuka also served Manager & Director positions at Abbott Diabetes Care, Abbott Laboratories and as Director, New Product Introduction Japan / Project Director, Asia Pacific Manufacturing at Baxter International. Before joining Evonik, he was associated with Fresenius Kabi as their General Manager Japan.

Matsuka holds the degree of Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from California State Polytechnic University, California, USA and Master of Engineering (Electrical Engineering) from Cornell University, New York, USA.
Dr. Minh-Quan Le
Head of the Industrial Pharmacy Department

Dr. Minh-Quan Le is the Head of the Industrial Pharmacy Department at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City (UMP), where he has been a lecturer since 2007. He has taught undergraduate and graduate courses and modules on pharmaceutical technologies. Dr. Minh-Quan obtained his undergraduate and a graduate degree in pharmacy from the UMP in 2007 and 2011, respectively. He later received his Ph.D. in 2017 from the INSERM 1066, University of Angers, France. Moreover, in 2020, he was awarded as a Qualified Person in European Pharmaceutical cGMPs in Spain.

His research interests focus on the applications of polymers in the formulation of oral solid dosage forms. This was well-shaped in his Ph.D. thesis on “Interest of Penta-block Copolymer in The Development of Microparticles for A Protein Sustained Release Application”. He successfully developed microspheres from modified PLGA-based copolymers. These microspheres can control the model protein's release profile for up to 30-60 days, which could be potentially applied in tissue engineering. Additionally, he has recently supervised a Ph.D. candidate dissertation on “The interest of alginate/chitosan in the formulation of sustained release microsphere and the optimization of preparation process parameters to modulate drug release”.

In addition to lecturing, Dr. Minh-Quan Le is notably well-known as a senior expert in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry in Vietnam. His contributions are mainly in the field of application of polymers in the manufacturing of oral solid dosage forms, especially in granulation and tablet film-coating technologies. Furthermore, he achieved numerous research and technology transfer works for controlled-release drug delivery systems. His vision is to exploit the high potential of and elevate the Vietnamese pharmaceutical industry.
