Overview

This one-day event will be an excellent opportunity for lab managers and senior scientists from formulation development, process optimization, scale-up and production teams to learn about the versatile products and services of Evonik Health Care for the pharmaceutical industry.

International experts and eminent personalities from the pharmaceutical industry will be the part of the panel, discussing “Novel areas and developments in Pharma industry in India” with an emphasis on industrial/formulation case studies, novel technologies and troubleshooting. Attendees will be able to directly apply their learnings from this seminar to their daily work.

Dr. Nitesh Shah

Dr. Nitesh Shah joined Evonik in 2012 as Manager-Technical Services for North India & Gujarat. In subsequent years he handled position of increasing responsibilities in Technical Services. He was later entrusted with responsibility of Business Development & Key Account Sales.

Currently he serves as Business Director of Asia South, where he is responsible for overall business of Asia South for all functions of Sales, Technical, Marketing, Business Development, Customer Service & Logistics.

Nitesh started his career as a Lecturer in Pharmacy college in Ahmedabad in 2007 and later worked in Formulation development of generics and NDA’s with companies like Zydus Cadila; and Johnson & Johnson.

Nitesh received his Masters and Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Nirma University, Ahmedabad, India. He has 13 publications in international peer reviewed journals.

Sonali Sheth

Ms. Sonali Sheth is Associate Director of Azelis India Pharma Division.

She started her career with S.Zhaveri Pharmakem in 1993, having 29 years of expertise in Pharma. The Distribution business of S.Zhaveri was acquired by Azelis India in March/2020, and she continued to Head Pharma operations.

Sonali is responsible for the overall business with all the principals and growing the Pharma Division of Azelis.

She has received her degree in Commerce from Mumbai University, followed by Technical trainings at various foreign principals. This has helped her for Techno-Marketing at Pharmaceutical companies.

Dr. Vineetkumar Patel

Dr. Vineetkumar Patel is heading the Formulation & Application Services team for the Asia South region. He joined Evonik in November 2016 as Formulation & Application Services Manager for the Gujarat & North India region. In Evonik, he has worked with customers on EUDRAGIT^® based modified release product development, scale up & process optimization, troubleshooting exercises and technical promotion.

Vineet holds a masters degree in pharmacy from Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi and a doctoral degree in pharmaceutical sciences from Nirma University, Ahmedabad. Before joining Evonik, Vineet has worked in Indian pharmaceutical companies like Torrent Pharmaceuticals, Emcure Pharmaceuticals & Glenmark Pharmaceuticals and has developed skills in solid oral formulation development and metered dose inhalation devices.

Hisao Matsuka

Hisao Matsuka joined Evonik Health Care as Vice President Asia North & Oceania in April 2021. He is presently responsible for sales & services activities in the region Asia Pacific for the business line Health Care at Evonik's Nutrition & Care Division.

He started his career in 1997 as an R&D Engineer, Electronics Lab/Software Development at Toyota Motor Corporation. Later he took up the responsibility as Program Manager, Global CT Business / Integration Manager, Asia Pacific at GE Healthcare (formerly GE Medical Systems).

Matsuka also served Manager & Director positions at Abbott Diabetes Care, Abbott Laboratories and as Director, New Product Introduction Japan / Project Director, Asia Pacific Manufacturing at Baxter International. Before joining Evonik, he was associated with Fresenius Kabi as their General Manager Japan.

Matsuka holds the degree of Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from California State Polytechnic University, California, USA and Master of Engineering (Electrical Engineering) from Cornell University, New York, USA.

Ruchir Shah

Ruchir Shah is an pharmaceutical drug delivery and excipient enthusiast with expertise in developing Novel, Generic, NCE, Complex Oral Solid Dosage Forms using Quality by
Design & Quality Risk Management principles.

Before joining Evonik in the End of 2022, he has worked as formulation development scientist on multiple OSD projects having BCS Class II and IV drugs. He is also well verse with many processing technologies, process development and have done many successful commercial launches.

Ruchir holds Master Degree in Industrial Pharmacy from Annamalai University in India and has also done additional specialization in Design of Experiments and Statistical
Process Control.

Vinod Paremal

Vinod Paremal, Regional President and MD, Evonik, India Subcontinent: Vinod Paremal is Evonik India’s Regional President since July 2020. Before helming the subcontinent’s operations, he has held positions at the Evonik Corporate Centre, and across various Business Lines such as High Performance Polymers, Oil Additives, Care Solutions, and Comfort and Insulation.

In his experience spanning 18 years, he has led Marketing, Sales, Production, and Strategic Project teams in Germany, Singapore, UAE, and the UK.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from University of Massachusetts Amherst, and an MBA from INSEAD.

Dr. Hemant Bhalerao

Dr. Hemant began working for Azelis as a Senior Technical Manager in 2022. He oversees the business growth of major accounts as well as the technical support of all Azelis clients in India.

He also oversees the Mumbai, India, application lab, which is now prepared to offer customers comprehensive technical assistance.

Hemant began his career as a formulation and development researcher and worked with organisations like Lupin and Recipharm on the creation of more than 25 ANDA, 505(b2), NDA, and NCE medicines for regulated markets.

Hemant earned his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics from the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Karnataka, India, and a Master's in Biopharmaceutics from the Government College of Pharmacy Karad, Maharashtra.

He has three research articles published in international peerreviewed journals and six patents.

Dr. Padma V. Devarajan

Dr (Ms) Padma V. Devarajan, is Dean Research and Innovation, Professor in Pharmacy and former Head, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology at the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, India.

She is also a member of the Board of Governors and Head of the Incubator at the Institute of Chemical Technology called ICT-NICE.

She has over 10 granted patents, has licensed technologies to industry and some of the licensed products are commercialized in India and Europe. She is also Founder and Managing Director of a Start-up Instavet Biopharm Pvt. Ltd., which has recently been awarded the DBT BIRAC BIG Grant.

She is editor and author of two books on Targetted Drug Delivery, published by Springer.
Prof. Devarajan is a nominated Fellow of the Maharashtra Academy of Sciences, and Life Fellow of the Indian Chemical Society and President Society for Pharmaceutical Dissolution Science (SPDS).

She and her research group are recipients of several awards and recognitions for Research and Innovation.

Some are the American Association of Indian Pharmaceutical Scientists Distinguished Educator and Researcher Award, the VASVIK award for Industrial Research, the APTI Award for Research in Pharmaceutical Sciences, OPPI Scientist Award, IPA ACG Scitech Innovative Solid Dosage Form Award 2017 by Indian Pharmaceutical Association 2017, Bengaluru Nano India Innovation Award 2017 awarded by Karnataka Science & Technology Promotion Society (KSTePS), DST-Nano Mission and Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research Centre (JNCASR)
Bangalore, 2017, the Outstanding Woman Scientist Award of ICAR, Government of India.

She is a Distinguished Alumnus of the alma Mater ICT Mumbai and the first and only Woman President of the UDCT/ICT Alumni Association.
